Itinerary Thailand

This is a typical itinerary, which is subject to change. NOTE, Chiang Mai and Kanchanburi can be swapped. Chiang Mai is more ‘touristy’, Kanchanburi more ‘gemmy’. The itinerary will be settled before you leave and is based on what the majority of each tour want to see. If you feel you are ‘missing out’ on one or other destination, I can always arrange a side trip for you!

This is a standard itinerary but may be subject to change.

Day 1. We arrive in Bangkok in the evening, just in time for a late dinner.

Day 2. We visit the Jewellery Trade Centre, home to hundreds of dealers.

Day 3. We visit Silom Road, home to Lapidary Supply, bead and gemstone rough shops.

Day 4. We take a 3 hour minivan ride to Chanthaburi for the weekend gem market

Day 5. Saturday is the main market day in Chanthaburi.

Day 6. We return to Bangkok

Day 7. We fly 1.5hours to Chiang Rai and then a 45 minute transfer to Mae Sai.

Day 8. Mae Sai for Amber, Spinel and Ruby shopping

Day 9. We fly back to Bangkok and take a 3 hour minivan ride to Kanchanburi

Day 10. Shopping for Black Spinel jewellery and a visit to Hellfire Pass and the Thai Burma Railway Interpretation Centre.

Day 11. We return to Bangkok and fly the 50 minutes to Mae Sod
